House of Representation modern house

We’re not entirely sure what this house in Kyoto, Japan is supposed to be officially representing, but we know it might be unofficially representing that cliche of not judging a book by its cover (or in this case, the inside of a home based on its exterior architecture). Frankly, when we saw the all-white exterior of this home designed by FORM / Kouichi Kimura Architects, we expected the interior to be a little, well, boring. Or at the very at least all white. How wrong we were!

Bursting with dark, dramatic materials like a charcoal gray slate tile floor, deep-hued wood, and a dark gray tile or stone, we’re in love with the level of intrigue they’ve brought into the inside of the home, and enjoy how they’ve used materials to really highlight the architectural angles.

From Architizer: ”This house is planned on a site from where there are beautiful views of the country side. The request from the client was for the creation of intimacy, but with a large living area. The exterior is designed as a monumental form so that I can seem to be a new addition to the scenery.”

Creative Office Design in Rusia by za bor Architects

building seems to be hanging between two buildings. It’s like a parasite, but this one doesn’t leech. It is called the Parasite Office, the modern office building was designed by za...

Colored Upholstered Vintage Furniture by Bokja

White walls are no longer fashion because they tend to look boring. But not if you choose the lively upholstered vintage furniture by Bokja. The couch above is dubbed Swivel Talia and is made of some
vintage lakii from central Asia mixed with a decorative texture, suzani while Below, the Swivel Chair tries to bring back the 60s with its embroidered vintage fabric from Tajikistan. Won’t go very well with your modern furniture in the living room but your parents would definitely appreciate them.

Just half an hour away from Samui International Airport lies one of Thailand’s most beautiful resorts, the Banyan Tree Samui. 78 cliff side villas are nestled nicely into the lush green trees, all with wonderful water views found throughout the living space.

Library Parking Garage amazing architecture

I found a picture of this the other day while searching for photos from Kansas City and I knew
I had to go
photograph it myself. This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I live here and I've never heard of it before—it makes me wonder what other secrets my hometown might be hiding.
