Because of laws precluding a British royal from marrying a Catholic, if Great Britain's Prince William married..say... the gay Catholic Andrew Sullivan, Prince William would be ineligible to take the crown, not because he married a man but because Sullivan was Catholic?Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.
